Hi I’m Izzy,

Welcome to blog! Thanks for stopping by… now sit down, relax, and join me as I travel the world and share tips, adventures, pictures, and what ever else I feel like writing about as I go. I suppose you came to this page to learn about me then… well…

I’m sixteen. I spend most of my time taking pictures, learning new things, exploring, and writing. I love world history, geography, biology, and languages. Right now I’m learning Spanish… and whatever language the culture I’m in converses in… I’m also a big fan of books and everything involving Harry Potter.

The story:

At the beginning of January 2016, my family decided to travel the world. After selling everything we owned, we said goodbye to our schools and friends, and beautiful Colorado. We traded our beds for the beds of generous hosts all over the world, our belongings replaced by six sturdy backpacks, and the world and lessons of life on the road replaced our classrooms and teachers.

What inspired us to take the leap to travel? Well it’s kind of long story (i’ll save it for later)…. In short, travel is not a new concept for my family. We have been traveling for most of my life moving from place to place inside the U.S., but the real catalyst for our adventure was a summer backpacking trip to Japan. It was the first trip we took abroad.  We spent one month backpacking around Honshu (the main island) visiting amazing cities like Matsumoto and Tokyo, riding trains, meeting amazing people, and staying at airbnbs. After that trip, coming home just wasn’t the same. We just could not sit still anymore when there was so many amazing places to see and people to meet all over the world.

So we turned our dream into reality. It took a month, and we were on a flight to Mexico for three months. And our adventure begins…

Meet my crazy, loving, amazing, and adventurous family:

My dad: The most adventurous of us all. He doesn’t like to sit still in one place for too long and traveling has been his dream forever. He is super smart and an amazing teacher. He used to work all sort of different jobs,  but now he works online.

My mom: My mom is amazing. She is super resourceful and thrifty, she comes up with all the great ideas around here. She is also very brave, even though she is deathly afraid of flying she flies almost every month now. She is a super hard worker. She immigrated to the US when she was thirteen and had to go to an American high school without knowing any English. Whenever I feel that something is hard I think about my mom and I know I can get through any challenge.

Kathryn: Kathryn is thirteen. She is the oldest of my younger sisters. We look like twins because she is so tall but it’s ok. Kathryn is super outgoing and full of energy. She is super artistic and loves to draw. We are very different, and we argue sometimes but no matter what she will always be my best friend.

Lauren: Lauren is twelve. She loves to read, especially comic books. She is also a very hard worker and always full of energy. Lauren is the funniest person ever and she has a passion for pugs.

Rachael: Rachael is ten. She is the baby of the family, but in many ways is the most mature. She cares very much about other people and she loves to help. She loves to talk to everyone and anyone and make lots of new friends. Her dream is to own a mini pig and to be a talk show host.

Our travels are just beginning and the future is still unclear. I’m still not sure where I’ll be 2 years from now, but I know I want to keep traveling and experiencing the world. Until then… let the adventures roll.
